Food for Thought #34 // Links🔗

This time the most interesting content I stumbled over includes:

GMO on current market speculation and the difference of speculation vs investing; and putting realtive performance from growth/value factors into historical perspective: Eerie Parallels to 1999.

After his great „All German shares“ Series Value and opportunity started the new „All Swiss Shares“ series. (part 2 published today)

Swen Lorenz with his newest weekly dispatch* about insider trading; and a London Fund platform (replacing expensive repetitive labor of lawyers and the like).

Collaborative knows it’s importanbt to Play Your Own Game (as does Bull & Baird: You Do You).
Collaborative is also aware of The Optimal Amount of Hassle. A skill I had room for improvement.

CompoundCapital with a Post-Mortem of an Investment Gone Wrong. Such posts provide valuable learnings. REgarding his fourth lessen: I believe complex models are neither right nor wrong per se, we should always make use of the right modelling. If a complex model is needed for the job, that’s the way to go, if a simple model can do it, that is obviously the better choice.

Company news

Finally, I found a piece of my Oriental Watch-puzzle. 398 HK rose over recent months so I was looking for some information. There seems to be higher demand for expensive watches, partially driven by speculation.

Best and happy investing, s4v
